Working with Adolescents
Much of my career has been devoted to assisting adolescents in the complexity of the years that mark the transition between childhood and adulthood. This time in life is particularly important in the evolving sense of a young person’s competency and identity. The experience of success is critically important in developing both good self-esteem and the confidence to approach future challenges. One of my many passions is assisting young people in this transition.
Because adolescents face a unique set of stressors, emotional problems, behavioral issues, and substance-use challenges can interfere with successful navigation through this phase in life. My goal is to engage young people to participate in a plan for success. It is my job to create a warm, working relationship where young people feel comfortable and capable in this process.
